Rara; It makes perfect sense, actually. The majority of people who visit Bahrain on a regular basis are Saudi's, many of who are looking for a good time. Booze is freely available to them, women are plentiful with a pretty decent selection, and even drugs are all over the place. A few hush hush places even have gambling.
